Madeleine Albright Agrees With Us

In a speech on May 13, 2015 at Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies on “Before and After Dayton: Bosnia’s Past and Its European Future,” former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright said that Greece’s dispute over Macedonia’s name is the crazies of crazies of international disputes in response to a question posed by UMD President Metodija A. Koloski. During the same answer, Madame Albright described her time as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations when the late President Kiro Gligorov was set to deliver his first speech at the UN in 1993 and the Greek reactions. She expressed how glad she was that after Kosovo, the U.S. could openly start referring to Macedonia by its rightful name, not FYROM, during Congressional testimonies. She urged involvement with Macedonia now not when its too late, in terms of NATO and EU enlargement. Click HERE for video (minute 42:00)
